WHAT IS GBTA LADDERS?
Mentor Program for Success
GBTA Ladders is a unique team mentor program that affords members an opportunity to not only expand their professional development within the travel and meetings industry, but to also gain true lifelong colleagues & friends.
GBTA Ladders Program Mentors are highly accomplished executives with proven success in the travel business from both buyer and supplier organizations. These passionate industry leaders volunteer their time to guide talented members of the corporate travel community by helping them build connections, knowledge, and skills – helping shape the future of the business travel industry. Each year GBTA Ladders looks for the best and the brightest around the travel industry to join our ever growing family of GBTA Ladders Mentees. We strive to select professionals with the highest merits and qualifications; such as individuals in fast-track executive management or similar management programs within their companies.
GBTA Ladders is a group of managed travel’s emerging industry leaders joining together for the dual purpose of:
Mentorship, education and collaboration
Leveraging our collective talents to help shape the next generation and the evolution of the industry
CONNECTING THE FUTURE OF TRAVEL
The aim of our workgroup...
For the 2021 GBTA Ladders program, workgroups were given the topic of 'Connecting the future of travel.'
Our initial group hypothesis was to put the ROI of travel to the test, but what we developed was more powerful and impactful. A metric that, if ignored, could have profound long-term impact not only to the travel industry, but to overall results of companies and people’s wellbeing… that metric is: Return On People (ROP).
So, rather than asking “what is the value of travel?”, the better question decision makers should really be asking is: “what is the value of the human connection?”. Then, and only then, will they get a better answer: The Company’s ROP!
In April 2021, we presented this idea to a group of senior industry leaders who scored the team the highest score, and shortlisted us as part of the final 4.
Then, in May, we presented to the GBTA Ladders community, with our built out website and calculators, who voted us the top team, awarding us with the honor of representing Ladders and presenting at the 2021 GBTA Convention in Orlando.
